Welcome to the Spiritual England Forums
I am looking forward to seeing who posts what on this website. And especially interested to hear about people's spiritual journeys. I feel that mine started a long time ago.
When I was a teenager a friend of my parents used to take me to the Buddhist Centre in London. I used to go to the local Polish Catholic church on Sundays. And I have always felt closely and emtionally connected to my Jewish relatives that were murdered in the Second World War.
Then at university I sort of joined the Divine Light Mission - there was a very young, perfect master who turned out to be less than perfect, but it was fun going down to London from Leeds university to try and see him. One of my favourite things is the Unitarian church because I feel much more comfortable in a 'broad church' or an inclusive grouping/community but they are just so few and far between. Anyway, when my sister was dying in 2003, I got the help of an Anglican church and after that did the Alpha course and became a committed Christian.
Then when I was working in the criminal justice system with families in difficulties, I felt strongly called to set up 'Spiritual England' for everyone and anyone who needs support in their lives and help to grow spiritually. Last year I went on a silent retreat with my friend Ann and found that silence is wonderful.
I want to make Spiritual England successful but I also want to build more time into my life to just BE and to connect with nature and with something beyond the everyday ...as well as connecting with other people of course. Join me in this exciting voyage of discovery. Let's support each other to develop the spiritual side/depth of ourselves and each other and our nation (or nations!) going beyond religious differences and difficulties and being free to just be at one with the universe, peaceful and loving and able to tackle whatever life throws at us and make a difference in the world.
Let's together, open the doors to support, inspiration and spiritual growth for everyone!
