Mental Health Forums

A chance to discuss and speak locally about mental health issues in your community. Make a difference where you live and discuss what is on your mind. You will also be able to find local online mental health forums in your area with this forum.

The Forum was founded in the 1990s as a vehicle to improve mental health provision. We are now a community of community leaders, practitioners and service users who come together in London and across the UK at talks and workshops on a regular basis. This website is another channel for our communication. We keep our members in touch with planned meetings via email alerts.

We provide information and signposting on mental health issues to the community and are proud to be the "Voice of service users" within planning and delivery of services for the Southern Health Trust. We are committed to promoting a 'strengths-based' Recovery focus, and so support and facilitate the direct engagement of service users and carers across multiple aspects of that planning and delivery.

Talking therapies are psychological treatments for mental and emotional problems like stress, anxiety and depression. There are lots of different types of talking therapy, but they all involve working with a trained therapist. This may be one-to-one, in a group, online, over the phone, with your family, or with your partner. The therapist helps you understand and cope with the problems you're having. For some problems and conditions, one type of talking therapy may be better than another.

Getting Better Together. Knowing when you need help is a sign of strength. Share your experience and join a support group to connect with those on the same path.

For people from all backgrounds to discuss Spiritual, Paranormal, Metaphysical, Philosophical, Supernatural, Complementary Therapies, and Esoteric subjects. From Astral Projection to Zen, Angels to Yoga, all topics are welcome.
