Hi I was raised catholic as well but just really because I attended a catholic school, my parents were not religeous, even so I rebelled against what I had been taught. I have been spiritually minded for many years probably my first practice was when I learned transendential meditation about 40 odd years ago, since then I have learned about many different kinds of practice, beliefs and techniques that enhance or offer another glimpse into what humans are capable of.
